2010 was a very difficult year, not only for me, but many.   The New Year is bringing in some new energy, a freshness and renewal of spirit.  I plan working very hard on multiple projects that have been haunting me for awhile.  Lately I've been reminded of all the inspiration I've received throughout my life.

The Labyrinth, by far, was one of the most visually and imaginatively impacting of any of my  encounters with Fantasy as an Artist.

It introduced me into the World of Froud which literally slung  the door wide open to  my heart and soul.

I take a piece of The Labyrinth with me each time I journey into my imagination.  I'm so thankful that Brian worked with Jim Henson to put this Masterpiece of curiosities together.   The Legend shortly came afterward,  even though I'm pretty sure it came out a year prior to The Labyrinth.  For me, Unicorns where my first infatuation with Fantasy.  I think it is because of the strength and power in their presence, being able to be tamed simply with innocence and pure of heart.

So with pieces from my Childhood's past along with new influences and experience I find myself quite curious to explore a few different areas of creativity and hoping that the New Year will bring the looking glass into perspective once more.

Onward to the new theme for FAEBAE....  Well for those of you who may not know anything about FAEBAE, let me first give you a brief introduction.  FAEBAE is an acronym that stands for Fantasy Art Enterprise Brilliant Artist Encounter.  I developed FAEBAE to serve as a place for Artists and Collectors to buy and sell all things Creative, Handmade and of course... Fantasy.  If anything it gives me a place to auction or sell my work.  But I created FAEBAE to provide the same tools and resources to other Artists and Sellers without the risk of loosing money paying for fees for basic ads and services.

For quite some time I've incorporated artwork from Clare Gladding of Fairytasia into the theme of FAEBAE.

I love kindred spirits, individuals who are giving of their gift and appreciate the "appreciation" of others for their connection to imagination and creative talents.  Clare is such a person.  Her artwork was some of the very first that inspired me to travel into the world of sculpture and mixed media.

Clare's  "Faeries" can be found all throughout FAEBAE.   I consider it an honor to have had her artwork elementally enhance the site since 2008.

Her kindness and giving nature has enabled me to make FAEBAE an even more magical place, and for that I thank her deeply.

Will I continue to use Clare's work in the new and future FAEBAE site themes?

I'm sure there will always be a hint of Fairytasia within the pages, for as long as she allows!

My recent discovery, not so much in the fact that it exists, but that it exists within the many facets of my diverse love for Art is Steampunk.  I do believe that you will find me working with this take on Vintage Science Fiction in the very near future.

Digital Art has long been a passion of mine as well.  Starting with the creation of montages from the Cult Adventure Series, Xena Warrior Princess.  I got my first taste of Photoshop and the limitless possibilities that come from working within the digital world.  My taste has surpassed my own abilities over the past few years and I find myself feeling the need to reach deeper into my creative abilities and see what is really within me as an artist.

So, the new theme of FAEBAE will be a mixture of old and new. A collaboration of all the things that have inspired me along the way, and a touch of kindred spirit.

I'm going to be focusing more on myself as an Artist this year, I've spent the past several working on "life" and the development of FAEBAE.  I'm very excited to offer this opportunity to myself, might sound strange, but that is how I see it.  My collection of art books have literally tripled over the past couple years, I have enough inspiration to create an entire world of my own, and that is exactly what I plan to do.

In my heart, there will always be a doorway into yours.   In my dreams there will always be a bridge connecting our worlds to each other.   And within every moment I exist, there too you will be.
