Oh! and don't forget to view the current listings on our rapidly growing Classifieds & Auction Site, www.faebae.com - Thanks!

Ihave set up some classifieds in my store.  I would like to know how do people buy them?  How do I know when someone buys something?  How do I set up the quantity available?  Where it has Paypal link for classifieds, what does the number of items mean.

Thank you,

Maren

Hi Maren, no problem, I'd be glad to help answer your questions :-)

Classifieds are a little different than Auctions.

As you know, you can add a Paypal payment option within a "Classified ad".

You will be asked for your Paypal email address and the quantity you have available.

The purpose of the "quantity" is to help you from not "over-selling" an item.

When your quantity reaches "0" then the paypal payment link will be disabled.  The quantity is not meant for the buyer to purchase more than 1 of the same item at a time (it does not act as a shopping cart).

When you sell and item or "sell out" of an item that you are advertising in a classified, you can mark the classified ad "SOLD" in your account area.   Then on the ad itself, it will say "SOLD" in red.  You can also remove the "SOLD" and reset your quantity available if you still have time left on your ad.

When someone makes a purchase using the Paypal payment link within a classified, you will be notified by Paypal directly via email, a receipt will also be sent to the buyer.  Within your personal paypal account, you can also add sales tax information etc.  You will also be able to see any payments you have received in your personal Paypal account, in case an email is ever lost.

Basically it is up to the Seller if they wish to have their potential customers contact them directly if interested in the item, offer a paypal option within the ad itself or route the person to their own off-site store such as your own website or other venue to complete the transaction. You can also generate your own custom invoices based on a customer's emailed order. In a FAEBAE Classified Ad you can do all four if you like, that is what makes us so unique and different.

Auctions are different.

When you list an Auction, you will have the ability to set a "Paypal ID" (Which is your Paypal email address) in your account info area.  Then during the listing process for an Auction you can select whether or not you wish to use Paypal to handle the transactions for that particular listing.

If you select to use this feature in an Auction, when someone uses the "Buy it Now" or is the winning bidder, they will get emailed and so will you from FAEBAE.  A payment link is automatically generated with the total due.

Within the buyers account area they will also have a link to pay for that item, and the email that they recieve will also have this link available to them.   When someone chooses "Buy it Now" they also are brought to a page that immediately allows them to make their payment.  So they have many options of where and when to pay.

Some of our Sellers prefer to handle all transactions manually themselves.  Meaning, they do not use the Paypal payment features at all.  They can manually invoice their buyers through their Paypal directly or another secure payment gateway, basically it's up to you how you want to handle your transactions :-)

If you don't use the Paypal payment feature, with Auctions you will still get notifications via email when someone purchases or wins an item, and so will the buyer.  But within the email, instead of providing a payment link, it tells the buyer that the Seller will contact them to complete the transaction or will be sending them an invoice shortly.

Hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any further questions!   Take a peak at some of the other ads throughout the site to get a feel for how some other members are listing and handling their sales :-)

The other "plus" about using FAEBAE, there isn't any fees...unless you feature or upgrade your listing of course.  You can also promote and advertise listings you might have on other sites as well, so really, FAEBAE is a very powerful advertising tool that connects Buyers and Sellers within a very targeted NICHE market and gives the flexibility that most other sites don't offer.  :-)

Have fun being creative with your ads!

*HUGS*
